An afternoon at the Lookout. Sam and I met an elderly gentleman at the start of the walk up to the bothy. He told us he couldn’t make the walk to the bothy today, he’d made a start at it but turned around shortly after. He had a fall a few days prior and he wasn’t feeling up to it, he said. He told us that despite having quite severe Parkinson’s he makes the walk almost everyday to make sure the bothy is tidy and well kept. He asked us very kindly if we could give it a good clean up for him whilst we were there. We told him it would be our pleasure. Aerial views of the River Etive at its mouth with the sea loch. These grand and complex deltaic-like deposits that feed into the loch are quite typical of glacially incised environments. But their true beauty is only fully realised when viewed from above. A perspective we don’t often witness with our own eyes...
